He has been the manager of the Kishi train station in Kinokawa, Japan since 2007. Tama is a three-color cat who is completely ignorant of train timetables, but saved a railway line from bankruptcy.

Ten years ago, the Wakayama Electric Railway was in danger of collapsing. It lost $ 4.7 million every year. The trains on this line were almost always empty. Railwaymen came up with a rather unusual idea to increase the attractiveness of the queue. They hired a cute, homeless kitten as station manager. The kitten had one specific task - to greet arriving and departing passengers. It was a bull's eye.
The dam, wearing a railroad cap attached to a collar, fulfilled this duty with dignity. Effect? Over the year, the cable car's revenues increased by $ 10.4 million.

The dam not only saved the cable car from bankruptcy. It attracted tourists to the town. Thousands of people want to ride the "cat" train and capture it in a photo with a charming furry guide. And by the way, buy a souvenir with her image - a T-shirt, a cup or a key ring. And also enjoy a meal in a buffet with a cat-like arrangement. Or take a ride on a comic-book train with Tama in the lead (and the only) role.

The dam is a tourist attraction popularized in word of mouth marketing on social networks.

Despite her stable age, Tama is brave and does not mention her retirement.
